Relax Inn Marlin

Crickets, both dead and alive, were scattered under, behind, and on the furniture, and I saw mice run across the floor a few times. The room wasn't clean, and the hard bed was so uncomfortable I might have slept better in my truck. For a weeklong stay, they clean the room only twice. The front office was very rude. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, even my worst enemy.

Our room had one bed, and food was smeared or scattered from the front door to the bathroom, across the ceiling, walls, and curtains. It looked like it had been there a long time. The receptionist was courteous, though he called me a liar when I said I heard a dog barking in a neighboring room. The motel is just off the feeder road on Highway 6, easy to reach and close to restaurants and the local Walmart. I can't say whether the other rooms were better.

We found a bedbug on my brother's bed this morning, and woke up with bites on our bodies. The room hadn't been cleaned properly either: there was a fork on the counter and the floor hadn't been vacuumed. The bed was very uncomfortable, with hard springs and a mattress only about 5 inches thick.

My stay at Relax Inn was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The room had bugs and trash, including personal garments left by previous guests, and it clearly hadn't been cleaned before I arrived. Plumbing was poor, toilets leaked, the shower curtain was ripped, the bed and bedding were bad, and the air conditioning didn't work well. Service was horrible too. The customer service was extremely rude, and I felt unappreciated. I could keep listing things. If you try a Relax Inn, I'd strongly suggest asking to inspect the room first. A horrible stay and horrible service all around.
