I’ve stayed at this hotel for years and usually had a good experience, but this visit was awful. We asked for a smoke-free room, yet the first one smelled like an ashtray. The front desk moved us to another room, but it was freezing. It was very cold outside, to be fair, and the wood floors seemed to make it worse. The fan speed dial was broken and someone had tried to fix it with a folded piece of a 3 x 5 card. We switched the other control to heat, but when the fan started it squealed like a bearing was failing. I hoped it was just because the room was cold and the fan hadn’t run in a while. After dinner, two hours later, the room was still cold and the fan was even louder. We considered calling the desk, but were exhausted and didn’t want to go through another room change. That was our choice. We were so cold that I slept in jeans and a hooded sweatshirt, then woke at 3:00 AM sweating because we couldn’t turn the heat down. We propped the door open to cool the room. Someone banged on our door at 7:00, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. We got up and left. The showerhead was so low we had to bend over, and there was no shampoo. We couldn’t leave fast enough. I normally don’t post reviews, but this experience pushed me to. I’ll keep using Motel 6 because they’ve always treated me well, though probably not this one. Again, I’m sorry.

The staff were very friendly, and the location was convenient for stores, restaurants, and the turn pike. I’d accidentally booked a smoking room, but they switched us to a non-smoking one without any trouble. The room itself was average and looked like it was being remodeled, but the bathroom was nowhere near finished. The bedding had holes that looked like cigarette burns, so I refused to sleep in it. The towels were stained too.

The key cards didn’t work properly, and the front desk man was rude. We were charged twice for the room and they refused to refund the extra charge, which was their mistake. Our supposed non-smoking room smelled and had cigarette burns all over it. The bathroom was disgusting, and I was afraid to sleep in the bed. It was ridiculously below par, even for a Motel 6. I know you get what you pay for, but it was bad, bad, worse. Pay twenty or thirty dollars more and stay somewhere else. Stay away.

The bathroom could use a small shelf by the sink for toiletries, and I miss the cushioned chairs they had when I stayed in 01/2014. These chairs aren't very comfortable. Still, the room was clean, the beds felt good, and I thought it was a very good value. I'll be back.

We arrived around 5 for an overnight stay and found eight cigarette burns on the bed cover in our non-smoking room, four right around the pillow area. The manager moved us after I asked for another room, rather than just a fresh comforter. The replacement was clean, though the wall by the sink had a large patch of peeling paper and soft drywall. The towels were barely bigger than hand towels.
