Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Martinsburg

I already have a soft spot for Fairfield Inns, and this Martinsburg, WV location made me even more loyal to the brand. Riley took my phone reservation while I was 5 or 6 hours south on I-8. She was efficient and incredibly pleasant. Everyone on staff kept that same standard through my short stay. Great staff and management, plus a nice breakfast, just minutes from I-81. Thank you.

The rooms were nice and the staff friendly, so otherwise we had a good stay. But breakfast was scarce. It runs from 7:00 to 9:30, and when we went at 9:00 the fruit, eggs, waffle batter, and bagels were all gone. The juice machine wasn't working, and there was no hot water for drinks. We waited, assuming they'd refill things, but they started cleaning up by 9:20. Take my advice and get breakfast early. We checked out and stopped somewhere else to eat.

It was cold when we arrived, and they arranged for the kids to use the pool at the hotel next door. The staff have been really friendly and helpful, and breakfast was decent.

Carissa was especially kind and really good at her job. The staff overall were extremely helpful and nice. The hotel was clean but dated, with a few things not working: the entrance lift to the room, the bathroom's main light, and one side of the desk lamp's bulb and plug. The light above the tub flickered like it was about to go out. The hotel wasn't bad, but Marriott needs to step up its game.
