Homewood Suites by Hilton St. Louis Westport

Housekeeping came into our room several times despite the clear Do Not Disturb sign and our repeated requests for privacy. One time they entered before checkout while my family and I were still inside. It left us feeling uncomfortable and violated. The hotel's disregard for guest privacy was extremely disappointing. When I tried to raise the issue calmly, General Manager Kyla was dismissive, rude, confrontational, and unwilling to take responsibility. I felt ignored, disrespected, and embarrassed for expecting basic privacy as a paying guest. After our stay, I became aware of claims that negative statements were being shared with other Hilton properties, seemingly to harm my family's reputation and interfere with future bookings. If true, retaliating against guests who raise valid concerns is deeply inappropriate. I rarely leave bad reviews, but people deserve to know how they may be treated at Homewood Suites by Hilton St. Louis Westport. Privacy, professionalism, and respect should be standard.

The staff were working hard and stayed pleasant while trying to keep up with guests during a very busy spring break. The room was fine and clean, though not to Hilton standards; there was dirt and hair around the bathroom floor edges and corners, and dusty windowsills. I stopped checking closely after that. As a hotel it was good, but as a Hilton property it was below average. The highway is right by the property, so traffic noise went on all night. There was a sign offering complimentary earplugs, but none could be found. The parking lot was tight and very full. The pool and hot tub needed attention, with murky water and no guest towels. Hallways had little bits of trash around. Breakfast was disappointing. It was a busy morning, but the attendant was slow and many items had run out. The selection was limited even when everything was available.

We've been staying here since 2024, and Barbra has always been wonderful. She's one of the most professional managers we've met, greets us with a smile, and makes us feel welcome every time. She even checks on guests while walking around the hotel. A young man who helped me a few times, I think his name was DeWuan, was very nice. The breakfast ladies were nice as usual, and the young woman who helped us check out was great too. There were a lot of new faces. The red-haired woman at the desk was nice, but not what I'm used to there. She was a bit too flirty with my husband, and her phone group conversation wasn't work-related. The room could use more detailed cleaning. Housekeeping has definitely declined.

The hotel price didn't match the service we got. Our toilet wasn't flushing properly, and it took five requests and several hours before a plunger finally arrived. We were told to plunge it ourselves. The same thing happened to the people traveling with us, whose toilet was clogged when they first got to their room. Breakfast was subpar, and there was mold in our bathroom.
