For $80 a night, I expected more. The floor tile seemed clean, but there was no blanket, just a sheet and thin comforter, which wasn’t much for a winter night with temperatures around 20 degrees in St. Louis. The curtain brackets were broken, so the only way to cover the window was to hook the curtain to the door handle. There was only half a roll of toilet paper and no spare. No cups, Kleenex, ice bucket, coffee pot, soap, shampoo, or hair dryer either. I’m glad I brought my own toiletries. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. It was the only hotel in this small town, otherwise I’d have gone elsewhere.

The downstairs room is being transformed, and it’s exciting to see the effort management is putting into modernizing the property. It’s still a work in progress, but I like the direction they’re taking and look forward to seeing how it turns out.

The rooms have been freshly remodeled and look great. Come stay here, it’s close to everywhere you need to go.

Best hotel I’ve stayed at so far.

After I paid, the owner said my dogs had to come with me if I ran to the store, even though he’d told me they were okay. We’d already been in the car for 13 hours, so having to take them along defeated the point of getting a room. He then said my room had no key because the lock was broken. He would have to let me in and lock me inside, and I couldn’t leave until morning. I left. I’ll be asking my credit union for a refund because this isn’t what paying for a motel room should be like. The owner also kept asking where I was going, which felt intrusive.
