The Historic Park Inn Hotel

I stopped at the beautiful Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City while traveling for The 607 Guest House and visiting historic spots around Iowa. I appreciate historic homes and the character they hold, so seeing the only remaining hotel designed by Frank Lloyd Wright was inspiring. The architecture is stunning. Art-glass windows bring in natural light, and the changing ceiling heights create a dramatic feeling of space as you move through the building. Running a historic vacation rental like The 607 Guest House makes visits like this more meaningful to me. It's inspiring to see historic buildings around Iowa being preserved and shared with visitors. Sometimes hospitality ideas come from simply stepping into another beautiful historic place.

The rooms were smaller than I expected, but very clean and cozy, and the bed was really comfortable. The hotel is close to plenty of nice bars and eateries. Both front desk hosts were wonderful, and the place was unbelievably clean. It snowed about 6" while we were there. One of the hosts was outside clearing paths for customers, so I took over for her and let her go in to warm up. She was very appreciative. I'm glad we stayed, and if we come back, we'll stay again.

My husband and I stayed here recently and would highly recommend it. It's a charming hotel with distinctive features, decor I love, and FLW style. The staff were friendly, the amenities were great, and it's near many downtown historic sites and shops. We'll definitely return.

Historic Park Inn feels like a living museum as much as a high-end boutique retreat. For anyone who cares about soul, style, and history, staying here feels like a pilgrimage. It's a Mason City treasure and the only remaining hotel in the world designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
