Hilton Garden Inn Cincinnati/Mason

The staff offered to move us, but that didn't solve the problem. My husband and I were tiptoeing and whispering so we wouldn't wake our 10-month-old, while people upstairs stomped from one end of the room to the other and back, shaking our door late into the night. It sounded like a horse-jumping contest. I love paying almost $160 to be kept awake all night. The noisy guests should have been asked to move or leave. Airbnb here we come!

Whenever I'm in the Cincinnati area, I stay at this hotel or the one in West Chester. It's in a great spot near restaurants, stores, and other things, and the bar is open until 10, I think. Milton at the front desk has been helpful and fun to chat with during check-in. Great hotel, as usual.

Ravan turned a stay that could have been awful into a good one. When I called about the stained comforter and bedding that hadn't been changed, she apologized and said she'd come up within five minutes to replace everything. She did exactly that, and was pleasant and understanding. She was attentive the next day too, though I'm not sure when she had time to sleep. She really saved the day. Before that, check-in with the clerk had been less than stellar, and then I found the disgusting bedding in my room. Without the Guest Service Manager stepping in, this review would be much closer to one star.

The room fridge and the ice machine in the hallway were both noisy enough to hear at night. Food and drink options were limited, and the service felt bland and by-the-book, though it did get the job done. Still, it's a good hotel.
