Tru by Hilton Mason Kings Island

The woman running the breakfast buffet was a ray of sunshine, and she made the mornings lovely. The rest of the stay was rough: the bathroom sink was clogged, the heater broke and left us without heat, and there were lots of barking dogs. We had to switch rooms, and the new one wasn’t much better, though at least it had heat. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. The front desk seemed low on energy and didn’t give the impression they cared.

For me, Tru Hiltons tend to feel designed for kids: small rooms, lots of colorful plastic, and breakfast that’s mostly cereal. This one was a big improvement over the nearby Hampton, though, and the price was good. Staff service varied depending on when I visited, but I had no problems with my room. A good hotel overall.

I like getting a hotel room for a relaxing night away with my kids, especially when we can swim indoors during the cold season. The rooms here are big enough and very clean, and it was cute to see our welcome name on the TV. The free breakfast had lots of good choices too.

The breakfast was excellent, and the woman working it was kind and pleasant. Some of the other employees came off a bit sarcastic. The rooms are extremely tiny. I use a walker and scooter, and there wasn’t enough room to use even my walker. I’ll never stay there again.
