Hampton Inn Toledo-South/Maumee

We came from metro Detroit just to have a quiet, relaxed evening, and chose this hotel expecting that. We almost certainly would have had a more peaceful time at a Motel 6, and probably won't stay at this location again. There were, I would guess, more than 100 children in the hotel. They ran and yelled through the hallways and slammed doors all night, then started again first thing in the morning on every floor. The pool and breakfast were so packed with children that they were practically unavailable to other guests. Early in the morning, someone I presumed was a chaperone, or some other adult who definitely wasn't housekeeping, knocked repeatedly on our door and woke us up. By the time I got dressed and opened it, she was already down the hall. She stared at me and didn't apologize. The staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was nice and mostly clean. The exception was a mystery liquid dripping from the ceiling in the bathroom, room 330, which both my partner and I saw. The elevator also malfunctioned while we were riding it, jolting sharply upward with the doors open. That was very concerning for safety. We're Hilton Honors members too.

I liked the digital check-in and check-out, and the digital room key meant I didn't have to keep track of a physical one. The breakfast bar had a good variety, especially since protein was included. My room and the hotel were clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. It was a mile or less from my destination, and I loved my room.

Everything was top notch. We drove an extra 45 minutes to reach a Hampton Inn, and were delighted to find an indoor pool and hot tub. After the long drive, sitting in the hot tub was wonderful. The connecting rooms worked great for all four of us.

I'm a loyal Hilton Honors member, and this property left me genuinely disappointed. The room feels neglected and badly needs updates and maintenance, far below what I expect from Hilton. I booked expecting the quality and consistency of the brand, so this experience felt deceptive. The bed is old, uneven, and extremely uncomfortable. I honestly don't know how I'll sleep tonight. It feels more like a much lower-tier brand, and I'm even wondering whether my car would be more comfortable.
