Quality Inn Maysville

I’ve moved to a different hotel now. I stayed here three weekends in a row, and things were fine apart from the roaches. I reported them and even showed one to the night attendant. He wrote down my details and room number as though something would be done, but the following week I was back in the same room and there were roaches again.

Jamie, the acting GM, let me check in early without any hassle. She’s warm, easy to talk to, and had a wonderful attitude. The room was clean and in perfect repair, too. Then there was the lamp. When I tried to switch it off before bed, it got brighter. I tried the switch again and it brightened even more, so I unplugged it. I can’t tell whether the room was haunted or there was some other-worldly spirit in the lamp, but I’d love to know the room’s history. I’ve stayed in “the murder room” at several hotels before, places where past guests supposedly met their end, blood stains and all, but this was a first for me.

Everything looked old and worn, and the room felt dingy. There was paint splashed around from what looked like a rushed paint job, and the caulking in the bathroom was awful. Even the toilet paper holder was literally coming out of the wall, lol. I’d pay a little more to stay somewhere else.

The floor was so filthy it turned my sandals black, and the outside trash can was overflowing. Inside, we found dead bugs, a clump of hair in the bathtub, and what looked like larvae sheddings on the floor. There was just one small garbage can for the whole room. It was the nastiest hotel room we’ve stayed in. I’d like a refund!
