Skyview Motel

The woman who helped when I arrived was terrific: professional, cheerful, and welcoming. On the frosty morning I left, she even lent me her ice scraper, walking from the office out to the garage to get it. With her permission, I showed my appreciation with a hug. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of hot water for a refreshing shower. I had a great one-night stay at the Skyview Motel on Nov. 9, 2025.

The only upside was being half a mile from a good hospital, which came in handy when I got sick during my visit. The rest was terrible. The air conditioner gave off a mildew smell, the couch was dirty, and both the room and shower curtain smelled of cigarettes. The desk chair was soaking wet when I first sat down. I complained and was told it had just been cleaned, then they brought me another chair that was dry but dirty. I had to ask for soap too. The bathroom shelf slopes, so things roll off into the sink if you're lucky. When I reported the broken TV, I got an impolite response, though they did fix it.

Hotels.com sent me a confirmation and itinerary for my room, but when I arrived, the motel had no room for me. They blamed hotels.com, and I ended up driving three extra hours to reach my final destination.

The beds were comfortable, the place was quiet, and the sheets looked clean with no stains when I checked them thoroughly. The location was perfect for what we needed, and having a Kwik Trip across the road was a plus. Still, I wouldn't stay here again. Saving a little wasn't worth it, and for the small price difference I should have gone to the Holiday Inn for free breakfast. It was 95 degrees outside, but the AC was off when I walked into the room, and it took HOURS for it to cool enough for me to stop sweating. The decent-sized fridge was unplugged, dirty, and still had food in it, so bring your own cooler if you need to keep food cold while waiting for the room to cool. There was a coffee maker but no coffee. The toilet paper roll on the wall was nearly empty with no spare, so I had to ask for more. The clerk was curt and rude on arrival, with no hello or thank you and no patience for questions. When I asked for toilet paper, he responded with an attitude and a grunt, even though it should have been in the room.
