The location is right off the highway, and the noise came straight through the room. Even with earplugs, the AC, and the TV on, I could still hear traffic. There are lots of other hotels nearby, and I'd rather sleep in my car than return here. I've stayed in plenty of places, but this was the worst. I used to work in hotels, and I wouldn't trust this one. Choice U, I'm disappointed it passed your inspections. The room had stained sheets that didn't look washed, holes in the top blanket, stains on the lamp cover, a leaking toilet with a bucket underneath, bugs in the bathroom light cover, a broken door lock, holes in the walls, ceiling damage, a missing mirror light bulb, a damaged, dirty, outdated microwave, and damaged light covers beside the bed. The manager didn't want to replace the blanket because of money problems. The GM said he'd inspected the room and knew about all these issues except the toilet, but rented it anyway. He promised to refund my Choice-U points, but they never arrived. I followed up every week and stayed polite, but now he hangs up on my number. There's also cracked glass on the sneeze guard between the counter and customers. I'll leave what that means to the reader. Six months later: The owner's reply was dishonest. I never got a call to work things out, and they blocked my number. When I called from another number, they picked up right away. Google won't let me respond. The owner's reply looks copied and pasted anyway. Be more specific next time, bud. 🐍

We booked through Choice and asked to cancel, but manager Willie refused. We drove more than 25 miles to stay after he threatened to ban us from the Choice member app. Our cards were giving us trouble, so I tried using my Venmo card. He said he canceled the payment because the reservation wasn't in my name and he wouldn't take my card, and told me the money would be back in 15 minutes. Three days later, Venmo said the hotel hadn't sent a cancellation notice. I called the hotel and was promised a callback, but never got one. The room wasn't good either, with dirty black marks near the bottom of the walls and a stained yellow tub. They also had to come fix the TV. I can't recommend this place unless it gets a new manager.

EDIT: After I posted this, Econo Lodge sent me a harsh, inappropriate email, included in my added photo, and banned us from staying there again. Their public reply also blamed us for things I never mentioned. I had tried to leave a polite but honest review for people using Google Maps, which does list incorrect information. The extra $3 charge was hidden in fine print most people wouldn't notice. After receiving two rude replies, I changed my rating from three stars to one. I wouldn't go back, and I'd tell others to avoid this place. The motel was adequate for a budget stay, but nothing special. Our room was clean enough, though there was dust and dirt on shelf tops and in overlooked corners. The bathroom looked worn and needed repairs, including around the plaster and the toilet paper holder falling out of the wall. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were better than expected. The heater warmed the room quickly but was loud enough to drown out the nearby highway traffic. The door opens directly to the outside, just a few feet from parking, which was convenient, but it wasn't airtight. Light showed through the gap even when it was shut and locked. Google Maps showed posts and photos apparently from the hotel claiming there was a pool, hot tub, and breakfast, but none of those were available. We booked directly on the Choice hotels website, which apparently only placed a hold on the card, since payment was still due at check-in. We were then charged about $3 above the total with taxes and fees shown in the booking.

We only wanted a bath and a decent night's sleep, but the tub was so filthy we couldn't bathe, and we didn't sleep. The sheets had blood spots and bugs, and the room wasn't clean. When we asked for the bathroom to be cleaned again, they said they couldn't do it. We asked for supplies and tried ourselves, but the dirt wouldn't come off. The clerk said management allowed showers only, no baths. That ruined the stay. We were given towels after asking for clean sheets and towels, but I couldn't tell if they were clean. I needed them on the floor because the carpet turned my kids' white socks black. The Priceline photos didn't match the rooms at all. They also charged my card twice for the room, and I still haven't got the money back. I won't stay at this Econo Lodge again, or at any Econo Lodge after this experience. Ask questions before booking or handing over your card.

Wally at the front desk was so friendly and helpful, even though we booked at the last minute. The room was very clean, with comfy beds, a nice hot shower, and a mini fridge. The TV had lots of channels, and the AC felt great on a hot day. It was easy to find and close to plenty of restaurants, so dinner didn't mean a long drive. We had a great stay!
