Hampton Inn & Suites McComb

I travel for work and can deal with rough hotels, but this was unacceptable, and I'm not coming back. When I arrived Monday, the sheets were stained and the toilet was dirty. There was no remote, and the TV's power button didn't work, leaving it stuck on. I went downstairs to ask for a remote, but forgot to mention the room's condition then. The next day, I rated them a 3 when they texted to ask for a rating from 1 to 5 and explained the problems. They asked if I wanted someone to service the room. I said it was alright because I thought they'd service it the next day anyway. Imagine my surprise when I came back Monday to the same stained sheets and dirty toilet. Tired from work, I planned to bring it up at checkout so the next guests wouldn't have to deal with it. On Thursday, when I finally told them what happened, they basically blamed me for not asking for full service. Seriously, do I need to request full service just to get clean sheets and a clean toilet? One of my coworkers also had someone bang on his door at 10:30 PM and try to get in. They told him he wasn't supposed to be in the room, but he pointed out that his key card worked and it was his assigned room. He had to go downstairs to complain, and they were dismissive with him too. You shouldn't come here either.

The woman serving breakfast was kind and helpful, but the rest of this experience was unbelievable. The lobby was in total disarray when we arrived, and both the gym and pool were closed for renovations. The website didn't make that clear. The rooms had been renovated, but ours wasn't clean when we entered it. Housekeeping was awful, and management appeared not to care. I raised concerns that housekeeping had pretended to clean the room and taken a $10 tip, but heard nothing back. Management showed no integrity in handling it. Use caution if you have to stay here.

The hotel is comfortable, recently renovated, and has friendly staff. But the shower was dirty and had hair in it. Housekeeping should check it while cleaning, since that matters to the hotel's image.

I was looking forward to coming back after the renovations, because if it's this good now, I can only imagine how much nicer it will be when they're done. Improvements should make an already great hotel even better, and I can't wait to see the finished place. The breakfast was a highlight, with a wide choice of hot and cold food, including eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, and pastries. Free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and plenty of parking added value during construction. The room was comfortable and spotless, with a cozy bed, room to relax, fresh linens, and a tidy bathroom. I appreciated the quality toiletries and convenient outlets for charging devices. Renovation noise was minimal and didn't interrupt my rest. Even with the work underway, the hotel felt clean, welcoming, and well cared for. The bright, modern lobby set a nice tone, and the front desk made check-in quick and easy. The staff were warm and professional. I had an excellent stay at the Hampton Inn, with comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and friendly service. I'd definitely recommend it for work or leisure travel.
