We only managed to stay about two and a half hours before leaving around 1 a.m. The room was so uncomfortable that I felt itchy after we left. It was about 40 degrees outside, there was no heat on, and the thin blankets had black burn holes and smelled like they hadn't been washed in ages. The towels weren't clean, and no toilet paper had been restocked. The bathroom was filthy, with pee and hair on the toilets. There were stains on the door and some unknown liquid on the nightstand that hadn't been wiped up. For what the room cost, it should have been clean. I wasn't expecting luxury, but basic cleanliness is non-negotiable. The front desk staff seemed nice and helpful, and there were lots of security cameras, but the rest of the place was awful and felt unsafe.

The staff were polite and friendly, and nobody bothered me, including the other guests. I also got to bring my dog, which I appreciated. It's convenient to the interstate and restaurants. My only issues were the tub looking crusty around the drain and some water spots on the ceiling that made it look like something might be leaking. Apart from those things, everything was great.

The people were warm and friendly, and the hospitality was great. Still, the bugs were the worst part. There were roaches, the walls were dirty, and the bathroom was awful. Water ran from the sink and left a big puddle on the floor. The male manager, or whatever his role was, also felt kind of invasive. Otherwise, it was fine.

Stay away. During our stay, the District Manager searched my closed personal luggage without my consent or any police present. My husband and I had driven six hours from NC for a two-day concert event for The Funeral Portrait. We're alternative, with piercings, tattoos, dark clothes, and non-traditional makeup. On the first night, we wore formal clothes and I had pentagram and upside down cross earrings for a prom-themed acoustic show. The manager looked visibly uncomfortable with our appearance. The next day, we stepped out briefly to Walmart to get oil for the car and took all our dogs with us. Within five minutes of returning, the manager knocked. It seemed like he had been watching us. Since the dogs might dart out when we opened the door, we put them in the bathroom for a moment. He demanded an inspection. We were in a hurry for our event, so I offered to check out and leave, but he refused and insisted on entering the bathroom. Once we'd secured the dogs, two in one of our two kennels and me holding the third, he came in. Our closed luggage was in the tub to save space, which is something we commonly do, especially after seeing a large roach the first night. He searched the closed bag, later claiming in his report that he was checking for another dog. That made no sense because I was already holding the third dog, and there were no other dogs. He charged us a $30 pet fee, which we paid, and then said we had to change rooms. That would have taken hours and caused us to miss the event. I offered to check out four times, and he still wouldn't let us. I became visibly distressed because I was at risk of missing the event we'd traveled across states to attend. When I mentioned that I have bipolar disorder, he threatened to kick me out and called me abusive. He treated a disability covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act as dangerous and wouldn't try to de-escalate. I have video of him admitting at checkout that he had done wrong, but his report to corporate greatly misrepresented what happened. Corporate did nothing. We were refused a refund and banned. Corporate even mentioned misunderstandings about what we were doing, though we could easily have shown our concert tickets if he'd asked to address any concerns. I believe completely that he would have left us alone if we hadn't looked the way we do. He formed false opinions about our self-expression and the events we'd paid to attend. If he felt comfortable searching our private bags, I wonder how many others he's done this to who were too timid to report it.

The service was friendly and very helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. Our large, well-behaved dog was welcome, and there's a small dog enclosure where he could spend a little time off leash. It was very good value.
