Super 8 Mcgehee

Breakfast had some problems: my husband said the pastries were stale, another guest found the cream cheese old, and the toaster charred her bread. He did like the coffee. Our room was nice and clean, and the gentleman at check-in was friendly. The main issue with the room was the door, which took a lot of force to shut properly. Maybe the unusually cold weather had something to do with it, but it should be looked at.

For a place to sleep in tiny McGehee, this motel is fine, though there's not much else to do in town. It's a typical old Super 8, with a comfortable bed, large TV, and good internet. Breakfast was meager. I marked down the service because nobody was at the front desk when I arrived, and there was no way to reach anyone since the phone number was disconnected. They should sort that out with the phone company or put in a buzzer.

I'm from the U.K. and stayed here on my way to New Orleans. The room smelled like chemicals, and I found roach spray in the bathroom. I also saw workers handling breakfast without gloves. The stay was absolutely horrible, so I left and took the loss. This would be shut down immediately back home. Skip it.

The dated room and common areas didn't feel welcoming, and my interaction with the staff wasn't welcoming either. Shortly after checking in one evening, I went to the bathroom and spotted a cockroach on the floor. I felt uncomfortable, so I went back to the front desk and chose not to stay. They said their policy didn't allow a refund when I asked. I left and found another place nearby. It was a bad experience for me.
