The pool was large, indoors, and heated to a comfortable temperature, but the air in the pool room was freezing. It was warmer to stay in the water, and we couldn’t use the loungers. That was disappointing because the pool was a big draw for our young kids. The rooms were clean and comfortable, though a little dated. Even so, we had a good time and I’d bring my family back. The lodge was right on the slopes, so we could walk straight out the door to ski. Staff were friendly and service was good, and the room included a complimentary equipment locker. Breakfast was complimentary too, with warm food, fresh coffee, and a fun machine that made pancakes to order. We had dinner at the tavern one night. The food was pretty decent and reasonably priced for a resort, and the cozy room had couches and armchairs around a big fireplace. Outside, an all-day gas fire pit with Adirondack chairs gave off nice heat. The resort is near lots of shops and restaurants, and other dining options were only a two-minute drive away.

The location at the base of Wisp Resort made it easy to get out for skiing, snowboarding, or simply enjoy the mountain views. Our room was clean and comfortable, with gorgeous slope views, and the lodge felt cozy but modern. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive from check-in through checkout. On-site amenities added to the relaxing stay. It was a perfect mountain getaway, and we’ll definitely return.
I live in Garrett County, Maryland, and Wisp is a big part of my winters. I’ve read the other reviews, and this place may not sound that great, but if you love skiing or snowboarding, it’s not too bad. Wisp is honestly pretty fun. For an expensive steak dinner, I recommend Pineview restaurant.
The resort and staff were great, but our room, 768, was a huge disappointment. The mattress was hateful, the bathroom floor was dirty, and the ice bucket had mold on it. One of the queen beds had no blanket, just a thin coverlet. A very sad room for four nights at $1,100.
The rooms were decent and clean, with no other problems. But we could barely sleep because people kept walking past and talking so loudly. It felt like they were right in the room with us. I wouldn’t pay full price for a first-floor room, and guests should be warned about the noise. Hope this helps someone else.
