Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge

We had great views and comfortable beds and pillows. When the smoke detector started making noise as we arrived, I texted the front desk. Enyah sent maintenance right away, and they replaced the batteries. The bathroom stayed cold, and the rooms are a little dated. The staff at Grizzly Burger were all very nice. We liked the burgers, including the crab cake burger, and the chicken sandwich. The fried cheese curds were good, too, and the serving was enough for four people. There were lots of shops with beautiful things. I loved the carved bears and Moose with their funny signs, and shipping was included in the price. It's a great location within walking distance of some beautiful hikes.

The room felt dated, and the thermostat in ours wasn't great. It was either hot or cold. The location is beautiful, close to the park, with plenty of places to eat. A free shuttle runs to the park every 30 minutes.

Our room was big and comfortable, and the hotel itself was pleasant. There are several restaurants with plenty of variety, and a number of nearby businesses offer excursions, food, and supplies. Denali National Park is close, with shuttle buses running there.

The grounds are lovely for a walk in the morning or evening. It was quiet and relaxing, and we enjoyed the fire pits on chilly evenings. Free shuttles and the location near the park and train are convenient, though the lodge seems mostly set up for cruise travelers. The restaurants weren't anything special. The food tasted okay, some of it was soggy, but service was quick. My main concern was cleanliness. The room looked clean at a glance but was dusty, and the bathroom smelled of mildew, with mold or mildew along the window edges. The shower didn't ventilate well, which we only noticed on the last day. Family in the next room had the same problem. I know it was the end of the season, but cleanliness should be consistent all season.
