BEST WESTERN PLUS McKinney Inn & Suites

We lost my wife's wallet while traveling with family, and the front desk called after it was found during a room inspection after cleaning. We came back a week later and got it back. The management and staff were understanding and kind about it. The place was clean, parking was plentiful, and breakfast had good flavor. Whataburger and DQ are within walking distance, and access to 75 is easy. We felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

There’s loads of parking for trucks, with or without trailers, as well as cars and SUVs. I’m working in the area until Christmas Eve and decided to try this hotel. The staff are welcoming, and the place has a homey feel. My room is always clean when I get back, and fresh towels are there without me having to ask. Breakfast is great, and somehow the coffee beats Starbucks 😁😋. I’ll definitely come back.

There weren’t any black tea bags, just green tea, but that’s my only complaint. The coffee machine also made hot chocolate, and breakfast was good every day with a different meat option each morning. We got daily maid service without asking, including bed-making and trash removal, which is rare these days. The rooms were clean, quiet, and comfortable. A lovely property and a perfect stay for us.

The people we dealt with were very nice, and our car was fine, but I don’t think I’d return or recommend this place. The blinds did block a lot of light, which helped with the glaring parking lot lights. Outside noise came straight through the AC vents when the unit was low or off, though the window itself doesn’t open. One chair had filthy arms, and the other made a horrible creaking sound whenever someone sat down. My husband woke up early and sat in it, and the noise instantly woke me too. The room itself was clean and didn’t have the overpowering scent in the lobby and upstairs hallways. That strong cleaner smell stayed throughout our visit, like concentrated product had just been dumped everywhere. In bed, I found old blood stains on the comforter and a pillow. It was gross. The shower had almost no pressure. The toilet was loud, the curtain was torn, the caulk was peeling, and the painted tub was peeling too. There was water damage on the wall.
