Days Inn by Wyndham McKinney

The location is good, but I’d only suggest staying here if you can’t afford a decent hotel. I needed somewhere to live until closing on my house and was trying to save money, so I booked this place. Right away it didn’t seem very clean. The bed was dirty when I arrived, so I asked for new sheets and cleaned things myself with supplies I had brought. There was brown stuff on the walls. It could have been chocolate or it could have been shit, but I didn’t complain about that either. I tried to extend my stay in the same room because I’d already cleaned it and had groceries that needed to stay in the freezer. I made a new reservation online to get the lower price, but they made me check out and come back at 3, four hours later. The woman wouldn’t make an accommodation, even though I asked if I could pay $40 more to stay put for that one day. That seemed crazy to me. I’ve extended at Comfort Inn and Holiday Inn in the same room when it wasn’t booked by someone else. When I asked for the manager, she said the manager was out of town in Louisiana and she’d pass on the message. I didn’t believe she’d actually make sure my complaint about how I was treated got through. The towels had hair all over them, and housekeeping did the bare minimum when they came.

I slept so well in that king bed. The bed, pillows, and comforter all felt like heaven, and the snacks were great too. The room was clean and the service was awesome. I’ll use them again, though I accidentally left my pillow and blanket there 😞

Just a heads up, I wouldn’t leave anything in the room that you don’t want taken. I had a tobacco pen with me when I came back, and put it in my luggage for safekeeping. The room had been cleaned, and my things were moved around, but I didn’t think much of it at first. When I went to get the pen, it was gone. I know where I put it. I understand this is a non-smoking place, but I had the pen with me. The office didn’t help.

We arrived late in the evening and the first room had no heat, so they moved us. In the next room, there were roaches. My wife woke up to one on the bedside table next to her medicine, and I saw another running around in the bathroom when I got up. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I contacted the Department of Health and Human Services, and the hotel has apparently been blacklisted. Good luck to anyone who stays.
