Hyatt Place Ontario / Rancho Cucamonga

Renovations are planned for the rooms and hotel, and the one working elevator is supposed to be fixed as part of that work. For now, customer service and management are AWESOME. The location is convenient too, near the airport, mall, and plenty of restaurants.

Breakfast was fresh and well stocked each morning, and the bright parking lot helped me feel safer coming and going at night. The rest of the stay had some real hassles. The front desk was often unattended, so getting help meant waiting, and with one elevator out, the other moved painfully slowly. At night, the window AC made loud, sudden thuds that kept startling me and made it hard to sleep. Those service and noise problems took a lot away from the good parts.

Getting onto the 10 or over to Ontario Mills was easy from here, and the airport, restaurants, and mall are nearby too. Even with all that around, the hotel itself was quiet. My room was clean, roomy, and comfortable, and check-in went smoothly. Staff were friendly, though getting extra towels took a while. Breakfast had a nice range of options. I had a really good stay at this Hyatt and will be back.

The shower had visible black mold, and a raised tile with a sharp edge cut my foot. After a ten-hour drive, that was the last thing we expected when all we wanted was a hot shower. Our room was near the stairs, so there was extra foot traffic and noise while one elevator was out. We were told about the elevator when we arrived, and the wait got bad enough that we often took the stairs instead. Inside, the couch was stained. The thermostat stayed at 73°F while the AC kept running, leaving the room freezing and making sleep difficult. This was a deeply disappointing stay, especially for the cleanliness and safety issues. It fell well short of what we expect from a Hyatt property.
