The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner

The staff made the best impression on me. Everyone I dealt with was warm and accommodating. I asked for a humidifier and an air purifier, and used the fridge as well. Each time, someone brought what I needed to my room promptly and kindly. At other hotels I've only borrowed a microwave, so I appreciated the service here. As for the room I stayed in, it didn't feel worth the price. The bathroom was small and not especially stylish, and the water never seemed properly cool. I caught glimpses of other rooms while they were being cleaned and some looked quite nice, but my own room didn't have a feature, whether the room, bathroom, or view, that I really loved given the hotel's name and reputation.

The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were welcoming and professional throughout. Having the parking garage attached was especially convenient, with an elevator straight from the garage to the guest floors. It was a very pleasant, easy stay from arrival through departure.

The location is fantastic, especially in bad weather, since restaurants and entertainment are easy to reach on foot. The meal at the restaurant was good, though it didn't feel worth the $400 bill for two adults and a child. Parking was an odd experience too: the structure felt awkward and almost creepy, and the spaces seemed subtle but not cleaned, giving the place "secret society" and "murder house" vibes. The staff were stellar, friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The room was mostly clean, but the bathroom looked dated, the lights didn't work properly, and I had to ask for a moldy shower curtain to be replaced. The black stains on every elevator art piece were strange. I couldn't tell whether they were scuffs or mold, especially since some were high up. It was a peculiar mix that left me wishing I'd liked the stay more, but I couldn't fully relax. As a mom, a holiday should feel like an upgrade from home, or at least be comfortable. We'd probably try it again, though we've had better staycations at the Williard and Waldorf.

The rooms are comfortable and nicely appointed, though a little small. What made the stay memorable was the service. Everyone addressed me by name and went out of their way to help. Faduma O, the housekeeper, was remarkable. I stay at many luxury properties, and I've never seen someone anticipate and take care of every need so thoughtfully. She cleaned every part of my room perfectly, arranged my things carefully, and even prepared my luggage on my last night. Her hospitality left a strong impression.
