Comfort Inn Meadowlands

The shower was the worst part: mold all over the ceiling, peeling drywall, missing wallpaper, and a filthy stained showerhead. There were stains on the top sheets and red stains on the comforter and sheets on both beds. I don’t know what caused them and don’t want to find out. The sink wouldn’t drain, and the toilet was yellow stained and kept running overnight. The rooms clearly aren’t being cleaned. There was a strong chlorine smell as soon as we walked in, and we waited more than 20 minutes for the front desk woman to check us in. Don’t book here. Save your money and go somewhere else.

This hotel is very dirty, and the pictures look nothing like the place does in real life. The staff don’t change the linen when they’re supposed to. When I asked for fresh linen, the heavyset Caucasian woman at the front desk was rude and lazy about it, and getting any was a problem. They need to clean the hotel from top to bottom and change the staff. One star. If zero were an option, that’s what I’d give it.

My wife and I enjoyed our first two nights, but the morning we were leaving, the fire alarm woke us both up. Staff and guests weren’t given any information. Staff and police kept us outside for an hour and a half without communicating with us. We’ll find another hotel for our outings.

It’s an older place, but the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pool was clean and pleasantly warm, though the chlorine seemed strong near my room, which was close to it. Staff were great, and breakfast was hot and good. The AC made some noise, but once I fell asleep I was too tired to notice. I’d stay again.
