Courtyard by Marriott Harrisburg West/Mechanicsburg

My house was having some work done, so I stayed here recently. Check-in was easy, the front desk greeted us warmly, and staff said hello throughout our stay. The lobby and the rest of the hotel have a modern look. There’s a Starbucks, some food, and a bar, which was a nice extra, plus a pool and gym that we didn’t use. I was impressed by how spotless and well-maintained my room was. I’d gladly stay at this Courtyard location again and recommend it.

No hot water, and I won’t be back. My online reservation was for a room with breakfast, but at check-in they said breakfast wasn’t included. The first room had soaking wet carpet that made a squishy sound underfoot. The second was very nice and clearly refurbished, but the water was only lukewarm. I let it run for 15 minutes and it never heated up. I had to check out a day early for unforeseen reasons, yet they still charged me for the final night, even though I’m a Marriott Bonvoy member.

After a long travel day in July, my flight was delayed and I had trouble finding my rental car late at night. With all that going on, I couldn’t call the Courtyard Harrisburg/Mechanicsburg to say I’d arrive the next morning instead. I showed up first thing in the morning and completed my stay, but was still charged a full no-show fee for the night before. I contacted the hotel several times and explained what happened, and mentioned that I’m a long-time Titanium Elite member. They showed no flexibility or willingness to help. Marriott support also confirmed the property could refund the fee, but that it refuses to. This left a very bad impression of the hotel’s service and priorities. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values customer service, loyalty recognition, or basic fairness. There are plenty of Marriott properties that appreciate their guests. This isn’t one of them.

I stay here often for work and find the staff very friendly and accommodating. The location works well for me, too. Some parts of the hotel are dated and it’s being updated, but that hasn’t affected my stays. I like the place a lot.
