Hampton Inn (not a Hilton Affiliate) Camp Hill - Harrisburg SW

I stayed two weeks in mid-February because my brother booked this place for me, since it was close to his house and inexpensive. I stuck it out while in town for my mother's death and memorial plans, hoping things would improve, but they never did. I wouldn't stay again, and there are much better places for similar fees. Housekeeping was badly lacking. My bed was made and changed only once, and not neatly. Fresh towels and washcloths weren't always brought even when I asked, and the floor was never vacuumed. There was no shower curtain, so shower water got the floor around the toilet wet. The phone by the bed had no cords attached and didn't work. Outside the room, trash piled up in a large nearby can and sat too long. My son and his family stayed two nights next door. Their room wasn't clean, and the clothing rack fell during the night. Thankfully, it didn't happen when his little children could have been underneath it.

We needed a room as the weather was getting bad, and should've chosen more carefully. The rooms were absolutely disgusting, whoever cleans here should be fired. The front desk guy was cool and helped get the TV working, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

My husband and I spent four days here for our wedding and found it cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were relaxed and easygoing. Breakfast was generous, and the room had the usual appliances, including an ironing board, microwave, and fridge. It was affordable, too.

It felt like a regular, worn hotel, not a luxury or romantic place. My room wasn't filthy, but the wear and tear made it seem overdue for a remodel. The microwave was rusting inside and around the edges, every wall had scratches or chipped paint, and there was makeshift siding along the floor where the baseboard was missing. The sink was faulty. Thanks to the maintenance guy for trying, but I hope management looks into the plumbing. When my neighbor used their sink, mine made a loud screech and backed up until water reached the overflow, then drained. My faucet also dripped the whole time. Every so often I’d hear a splash as the sink slowly filled and emptied, which was annoying as all hell. I don't agree with Google's suggested descriptions like luxury, great view, romantic, high tech, or quiet. I’d give it 3.5 and might book again to see if the other rooms are like mine.
