Spark by Hilton Mechanicsburg

Coffee isn't provided in the rooms, but I understand that's part of keeping prices affordable. They do have fresh coffee in the lobby all day, with a good choice of condiments. I had a wonderful stay. I've stayed at multiple Sparks locations around the United States and have had consistently positive experiences. I prefer Sparks for its budget-friendly prices and the service and quality I expect from Hilton. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for the excellent service. I really appreciate it!

The pool was nice and deep, though the whirlpool could've been warmer. The bagel bar had more than bagels: hard-boiled eggs, yogurt with granola, muffins, cereal, juice, coffee, and tea.

UPDATE after Spark Hotel replied: “Light sleeper”? You must be joking. I’m far from a light sleeper. The Turnpike is so loud it could wake the dead. I’m a loyal Hilton customer, but I think it’s unfortunate Hilton has entered this part of the lodging market. Hilton should reconsider its corporate decisions and stick to medium- and high-value locations. Please stop watering down the company’s reputation and image. Leave the motel segment to less reputable brands. The staff were pleasant the whole time, which was one good thing. But the regular coffee was empty at breakfast every morning, and breakfast was just bagels, cereal, juice, and instant oatmeal. The hotel is less than 30 yards from the PA Turnpike, and traffic noise goes on 24/7. If you have to stay, ask for an odd-numbered room, since the even-numbered rooms face the Turnpike. The window view isn't pleasant, either. You'd need hearing protection and a pillow over your head to sleep here comfortably. I won't stay at a Spark again.

We hadn’t planned on staying here, we just hit the road and figured we’d stop anywhere. It turned out to be a really nice, clean hotel, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast wasn’t as good as at other Hilton hotels, but we still had a great stay.
