Alpenhof Bed and Breakfast

We’ve stayed at the Alpenhof every Thanksgiving for six years while visiting relatives in Media, and Roland and Anh have become a real source of comfort and enjoyment for us. The rooms feel like art exhibits, and there are fascinating artifacts from around the world throughout the place. Breakfast could hold its own against any fine hotel. When we had to leave at 5 AM, Roland even put a bag of breakfast treats outside our room. That’s service. This was our second visit to Alpenhof, and we spent three nights in the luxurious Grand Master Suite with friends. We made good use of the lounges, dining room, and balconies, and the unusual decor and whimsical gardens were lovely both during the day and at night. Breakfast was generous and prepared to suit each person’s choices. The setting feels peaceful and country-like, while still being close to Media’s shops and other amenities. Roland and Anh were thoughtful and quick to respond.

Breakfast was just right every morning, and chatting with the other guests around the table made a lovely start to the day. Roland and Anh are warm, engaging hosts who quickly make you feel like old friends. The house is full of history and beautiful things, almost like a museum, but still feels welcoming and comfortable. It’s close to everything, and there are plenty of delivery options if you’d rather stay in your room. We’ll definitely try to come back when we’re in the area.

Staying in a restored 300-year-old barn was such a special experience. I kept thinking about all the history those walls must have seen. The rock garden was amazing, too. I had my birthday at Alpenhof B&B and really enjoyed it, though I wish I’d had more time to look around. It’s one of the best B&Bs we’ve stayed at. We’ll be back. Best regards, Ruth and Gary
