For the price, this is the best option locally. The other two places have roaches and much smaller rooms. I feel safe here as a woman staying alone for work, sometimes for weeks at a time. The front desk does what it can to accommodate you, but doesn’t get involved in drama. Just make sure to ask if you want your room cleaned. There’s no breakfast, though the lobby always smells like home cooking, and Roosters is in the same parking lot. The place is tucked away and feels safe. Ask for Jo if you need anything, she’s a sweetheart. Enjoy! 😊

After the My Chemical Romance concert in Philly, my sister and I checked in here at 1 am on 08/15/25. We were exhausted and paid 100 dollars for the night, ignoring the six or seven “NO REFUNDS” signs in the lobby. On the way to the room, we passed a dumpster full of white mattresses. Then, right after we entered, I saw a roach crawling up the door frame as I turned to lock the door. We checked around and spotted about seven roaches in five minutes, including one that looked three or four inches long. We felt sick, grabbed our things, and left for a nicer hotel, which cost us another 200 dollars. The online photos are completely fake. Don’t stay here.

The only things I can say in its favor are that our bed seemed new and was comfortable, and there were plenty of nice mirrors. The rest of our two-day stay was deeply uncomfortable and didn’t feel safe. It’s a three-story hotel with no working elevator, no ADA accommodations, and the elevator I did see was blocked. At night the outdoor lighting was poor, and people hung around on the room walkways. There were no closet hangers, tissues, extra toilet paper, or room phone, and the TV didn’t work because there was no cable. Asking the lobby about missing items got us nowhere. The room was dim, and there was no carpet, despite that being advertised. Old mattresses and broken furniture were visible behind the building. The place felt more like long-term housing than a hotel for short stays. On our last night, we returned to a completely dark room with no power. Someone staying there told us it had been out for hours, so I assume there’s no backup generator. We also saw baby roaches. This place gives budget hotels a terrible name. I was in town for a family event and wasn’t in the room much, but I can’t imagine feeling comfortable spending time there. Never again.

They charge an extra $50 when there are two occupants instead of one, just so you know. The rooms are filthy, with sticky floors and old furniture, and there are roaches, though I didn’t find bed bugs. Getting fresh towels and sheets was a struggle, and the service was terrible.

The owners were very friendly, and this isn’t a complaint about them. Still, I can’t recommend this hotel. Our non-smoking ground-floor room smelled awful, there were bugs in the shower, and water from the refrigerator had spread all over the floor when we arrived. The lobby was dumpy, and the area felt questionable. When I asked about switching rooms, the woman at the desk said she didn’t want to put us in an “unsafe area,” which is not something I want to worry about at a hotel. You can hear everything. The toilet ran all night, and the AC was loud. I was concerned about bed bugs and barely slept. I feel bad saying it, but you get what you pay for. We booked the day before, so plan ahead and make your vacation worth the money.
