Longfellow Hotel

Kylie walked us to the room and explained how everything worked, and the service was fantastic. There's a guest pantry on every floor stocked with water, ice, and toiletries. The hotel is gorgeous and, in warmer weather, easy to explore on foot. Well worth the price.

The texting setup worked surprisingly well since there's no physical front desk. Whenever I needed something, I could message the hotel from my room and get a reply in under 30 seconds. The place mixes traditional and contemporary design in a way that felt like a big warm hug. My room and bathroom were huge, the robes were soft and oversized, and the bed was comfortable. Each morning I woke up to autumn trees and water outside, and I even saw the Northern Lights from my room. I came to Portland in the off season to unwind and eat seafood, so the quiet suited me. I was nervous about finding a hotel in a small town after getting used to fancy big-city hotels, but I'm so glad I found Longfellow. Restaurants, bars, dispensaries, shops, and the Pier are all within walking distance. There's also a hotel bar, restaurant, and cafe, plus a spa I recommend making time for. The hotel offers complimentary rides within a 3 mile radius, and Lyft and Uber were very cheap. I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

We booked three rooms, and every one of us was completely happy with the comfort, cleanliness, staff, and on-demand car service. The cocktails and food were spectacular at any time of day. A great stay.

The COFFEE and HOT DRINKS deserve five stars too. My family and I have been vacationing here for over 25 years, and as we've gotten older, being near a hospital has become a real convenience. Most luxury hotels are in the "Old Port District," while this one is in a historic area near Maine Medical Center. We often used the "Town Car" because we had a bigger vehicle we didn't want to move after valet parked it. Emily, Elliott, Abdhi, and Travis took great care of our rides, parking, and getting the car back at checkout. At the front desk, Bowen and Ying always handled our needs with a smile. Housekeeping also paid top notch attention to detail. The restaurant food was top quality, and the restaurant and bar staff were kind and friendly.
