Media Inn and Suites

My husband and son stayed here so he could be near his college interview the next day. The room was dirty and disgusting, and the online photos don’t show what the rooms actually look like. It was January, but the heat wasn’t on, and it was so cold there was ice in the toilet. They checked in at 1 am after a long day, and my husband couldn’t drive any farther, or they would have left right away. You’d be better off sleeping in your car.

We only booked this place because a severe storm had caused widespread power outages, and we needed somewhere with water and electricity. The owner was friendly at check-in and showed us to our room. The bathtub drained very slowly, and the mattress had burn marks and wasn’t comfortable. The room smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the whole motel badly needs renovation. At least the shower and AC felt nice. I’d only stay here if there were no other options, as there weren’t for us.

I’m a woman who left an abusive partner and came to the media inn so my family and friends wouldn’t be put in danger. My family and churches helped pay for my stay until I could get into a shelter. I was there for two weeks, and they never cleaned my room or provided fresh towels or sheets. I cleaned it myself. Rain came in through the window, and the floor was sinking. They received between 1200 and 1400 dollars for my stay. When my rent was late, he put me out on 12/31/24, and now I’m sitting outside, vulnerable all over again. I stayed there so I wouldn’t have to go back to him.

The front desk was often unattended during my week there, and with vagrants hanging around outside, I felt unsafe. The outlets were also unsafe, either not working or unable to hold plugs securely. On my first morning, the Hotel Manager asked whether housekeeping was treating me well. I told him I hadn’t seen Housekeeping. That evening I noticed the bathroom floor hadn’t been swept. There were body hairs along the bathtub edge, and they stayed there for a couple of days. The room rug wasn’t vacuumed during my stay, and trash under the desk was never picked up. On the morning of the third day, I picked up a washcloth to clean my face and found it dirty, black, and marked with orange spots. Later that day, I came back to find the desk’s glass top still dirty and the trash still on the floor. I called the Hotel Manger to my room and showed him that nothing had been cleaned. I also told him about the washcloth. He said he had fired the old people and had taken over the hotel on May 8. I told him that wasn’t my problem. That evening, I grabbed a towel to dry my face before dinner and found it full of holes and shredded. I was furious, went downstairs, handed it to him, and said it should never have been left in my room. I asked for some money back for all the trouble. He said he needed to speak to someone, but that never happened. Stay away from this place. Instead of an apology, you should have answered my request for compensation for all the trouble you put me through. This is a terrible hotel, and everyone should avoid it.
