Oakwood Silicon Valley

The walls are so thin that you can hear conversations in the next room, so bring earplugs and don’t plan on confidential calls. That’s a shame, because the place is clean, the beds are comfortable, the room temperature is easy to control, and the front desk is friendly and helpful. It’s conveniently located for a variety of things, with a Safeway nearby. If the walls were fixed, this would be a five-star experience.

The hotel was new and beautiful, and everyone on staff made us feel welcome. I came for the Super Bowl because it was close to the stadium, and dealing with all the drunk fans can’t have been easy. I made sure to get the names of Bianca, Carol, Rania, Alondra, and Marlena because they were so friendly. Most guests seemed to be from Seattle, so it was great that The Seahawks won. Such a good stay, thanks, ladies!

The mini golf next door was a fun extra, though it stays open until 11 pm, so ask for a room on the other side if you turn in early. Parking costs £15 per night, whether you use the outdoor or underground lot. I stayed one night and found the building felt new, the staff were nice, and the spacious room had a great, comfortable bed. Breakfast was the usual Hampton spread and was nice. I’d stay again.

The internet speed is my one real gripe. For a place in Silicon Valley, I expected it to be much better, and I don’t just mean the Wi-Fi. Otherwise, this has worked out well for my long work assignment. Once I park the car, I can walk to most places to eat and do basic shopping. The location is a little different, but it suits me. The hotel and room are clean and well cared for, breakfast is the standard hotel kind, and there’s a nice patio plus a really good mini golf spot right next door. Staff have been welcoming and professional. I’m looking forward to coming back in a few weeks.
