Motel 6 Medina, OH - Cleveland

The day after I checked in, nobody had serviced the room. The bed wasn’t made, and there were no fresh towels to replace the used ones. My sister and her partner in another room had the same experience. When they called the front desk, they were told to bring their dirty towels and wash rags down for an exchange. On the first day, I found dead bugs behind the door and another one flying around. The blanket in my no smoking room had a large cigarette burn in it. If this is the only hotel available when I’m in the area again, I’ll sleep in my car.

The bathroom floor was lifting in several spots, so the door only closed if you stepped on one particular place. Near the tub, another part of the floor sank at least half an inch to an inch. The toilet rocked when I sat down because it wasn’t sealed to the floor. I was also surprised the third-floor window opened all the way without a screen or safety stops. The lights flickered, and some didn’t work at all. I had low expectations from the start because it’s a motel, but this room was something else. Luckily I was alone and had no kids with me. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless there’s literally no other option.

Jamie went out of her way multiple times during the short three days we’ve been here, and was so nice. Chris, I think that’s his name, seemed bothered by basic parts of his job, like getting me quarters or answering simple questions. It felt like I was interrupting a show on his tablet. The night shift guy, whose name I haven’t asked yet, was standoffish too. Maybe I caught him while he was talking to his girlfriend on the phone. Our first room was way too small, though that wasn’t the hotel’s fault. The double room we’re in now is spacious, but needs more storage. There’s no refrigerator, the TV is broken, and both beds have dents where you lie down. The linen smelled bad, and I had to bleach the whole bathroom when we arrived. Housekeeping needs to be held accountable for the lazy cleaning. My daughter is G-tube fed and needs her supplies and formula refrigerated. Food I bought today went bad in our cooler. We’re here house hunting, and I can’t afford to lose money like this.

I’ve spent 42 nights here over the past calendar year, and I keep coming back because the staff are so nice and polite. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, and safe, and they’re good value for the cost. They could use some updating and repairs to look better, but they suit my needs and meet my expectations.
