The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, although the hotel feels a little dated. I wish the rooms had better lighting and the bathroom had an exhaust fan. Elaine, the Housekeeping Manager, was amazing and really helpful, and Jackie in the breakfast area was a joy to talk to. The bartender working Monday night was the best, even though she only works the bar once a week. She should be there all the time. Tuesday night’s bartender wasn’t nearly as friendly or accommodating, but we still had a nice time.

The best thing about the hotel was the hot water. They’re definitely set up for sports teams playing at the field down the street. They tried to charge an extra 100.00 for incidentals, though, and that amount wasn’t documented anywhere, so it seemed to be up to their discretion. The elevators were gross, and we found bed bugs. Bring alcohol and bleach. Staff were okay except for Nicholas and Roxanne at the front desk, who need more customer service training. Good luck.

The beds were very uncomfortable, some towels had holes and looked like they needed replacing, and there were ants in the bathroom when we entered the room. When I told the front desk lady, she said ants are common in Florida. I said I live here and don’t have ants in my house, and she just replied, “oh”. The staff seemed not to care and just there to work. I called about early check-in and was told 30 minutes early would be fine. Nobody mentioned that the elevators weren’t working until we arrived. They then offered free cancellation, even though it was too late for us to go elsewhere. That was frustrating and felt pretty slimy. We definitely won’t be back.

Chef George Haywood deserves a special mention. He worked hard to make sure I had what I needed, helped with everything, and came across as a really nice guy who can handle just about anything. I booked the conference room for my comedy show and it went great. The hotel was clean and well put together, and I’ll keep coming back.
