Our latest visit was in Room #7, with an ocean view, private deck, steam shower, soaking tub, and plenty of room to unwind. Even winter rain couldn't dull Mendocino, and Nicholson House made the trip memorable. We've now stayed in three different rooms at Nicholson House, and each is beautiful, inviting, and unique. We want to try them all. The place mixes modern comfort with thoughtful Victorian details, including paintings, brass, and tile. Mollie, the owner/curator, is so thoughtful, responsive, and intentional about every detail. She'll notice if anything is out of place! We parked on arrival and didn't need the car again. Meals, shopping, the Headlands, and Big River Beach are all walkable. Morning coffee and Julian’s pastries at The Waiting Room are a perfect start to the day. Highly recommend, and we can't wait to return. Until next time...XOXO

The little touches in the room kept catching my eye, from the authentic Art Deco and antique details to the rich green bathroom with its gorgeous tiling. The bourbon nightcap and madeleines were a delight after our long drive, and even the earplugs and eye masks showed how well they'd thought about guests' needs. Mollie and her team clearly put care into both the design and the hospitality. Mollie was super responsive when we needed to change our dates, and arranging a reservation with her at Cafe Beaujolais was easy. The room and guest experience showed real attention to detail. We had breakfast at the Waiting Room, pizza at the Brickery, and dinner at Cafe Beaujolai, never needing to go far for good food. A warm welcome at the restaurant and one of the best tables in the house made a great end to the weekend. One of the best hospitality experiences I've had in a while. Thank you for creating something beautiful that helped us feel joy and connection.

Nicholson House was incredible for our honeymoon. We were upgraded to a spacious, gorgeous king suite with so many thoughtful touches. We also stayed at another place in town and wished we'd spent the whole trip at Nicholson instead. The restaurants are fantastic too. Highly, highly recommend :)

We came for two nights at The Nicholson House for our annual work break, when we look for a place that inspires creative thinking, gives us room to work, and lets us easily find food, walks, and downtime. The West Suite was cozy and relaxing while giving us the space we needed. Every detail was beautifully chosen, from the antique furniture and record player to the heated floors and complimentary bourbon and madelines. The location made it easy to walk to the Mendocino Headlands, which is a must when you're in town, and Big River Beach. Cafe Beaujolais, the best restaurant in town, is right nearby. Like the rest of the Beaujolais businesses, this property is high quality, with top-notch service. We didn't see staff on site, but communication was effortless and they replied immediately whenever we had a question. There's so much to do without getting in the car. It's also a wonderful place to visit when you're not working. I highly recommend The Nicholson House and hope to return.

Strong recommendation. We had friendly greetings from the staff, and replies through the provided web app came lightning fast. Early check-in and keyless entry were handy. The room had French press coffee, and breakfast pastry and coffee were included next door. We also got locally made body butter and soap to take home. Heated bathroom floors, too. And one more thing, the bath towels were huge, plush, and fluffy!
