The maintenance was handled well, and repairs got done, but the window screens were already torn when I moved in. I told the manager and nothing came of it. I also had to figure out on my own where packages were left during those first few months. The bigger issue was moving out. I cleaned for hours and took out all my trash, but even after getting an invoice for the wall paint, I still haven't received any of my deposit back. If I'd known, I wouldn't have spent so much time cleaning. The apartment also had a neighbor constantly shouting across the street, including threats to her partner, and the police were often at that house. Management was awful. I'd look elsewhere to avoid the hassle.

The Bay Trail was a real plus for me. I rode my bike from the property most weekends. I also found the neighborhood quiet and generally safe. There was usually a police car parked on the corner, and although a fire station is two blocks away, I never heard sirens. The big windows let in plenty of sunlight, and when I wanted to use AC, they did a good job keeping outside noise out. I lived in a furnished one-bedroom in Building G, on the third floor, from May to August 2024. The apartment was modern and well kept, and everything supplied was top notch. Management responded attentively, and maintenance requests were fixed promptly. The downside is that management is remote, which could be stressful if something needs immediate attention. Meta is across the street, and its garbage trucks come around 3 a.m. every day, enough to wake you if the windows are open. It's easy to walk around, but the area is mostly houses, with small, expensive grocery stores. For meeting people or shopping, I usually went to Palo Alto. Without a car, getting there by public transit can take a painful 40 minutes.

The staff were rude when I asked how I could see the bike storage room from outside. They insisted it existed, but couldn't show me where it was, then said I wasn't suited to the apartment if I didn't believe them. It felt like being told to believe in the emperor's new clothes. I toured apartments throughout Menlo Park, and this was the worst management I encountered. There's no on-site staff, as with Roen Menlo Park after the transfer to Essex. You can only reach them by phone, and they weren't responsive even about self-guided tours. They also kept saying there was a bike room, but didn't know where it was. The website showed one photo of a bike repair room, not bike storage.

Oscar is awesome. He carried a new washing machine up three flights of stairs by himself, then even came in on his day off to make sure it worked. He always goes above and beyond and gets our maintenance issues sorted quickly. 5/5!

We never had problems with stolen packages or car theft, and always felt safe living here. My family and I spent two years at 777 Hamilton and had no complaints. Service requests were dealt with promptly and really well, thanks Oscar. If the price and location work for you, I'd say go ahead and rent here.
