Econo Lodge Menomonie On The Bay

I really liked this clean hotel right on the lake shore. Walking there and listening to the waves was lovely. They let me park a truck with a trailer on the property. It's a wonderful city with wonderful people. Thanks for your help, Scot from the neighboring town of Wallas, and thanks as well to the kind man who helped get my truck started when it froze.

We only stayed one night, and the lower price wasn't worth it. I had a diabetic episode, passed out, hit my head on the TV stand, and may have broken a toe in the fall. I'm at urgent care now. While I was lying on the floor, my girlfriend was treated rudely at the front desk when she asked for a cup of dry cereal, so she walked to a nearby gas station instead. We'd booked a pet-friendly room for a service dog, but were charged for a non-pet-friendly room. There was no elevator or luggage cart, and not enough rails. My car keys kept failing. I'm not sure how they get past the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The staff were very accommodating, and the room was clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast went well beyond what I expect from a continental spread, which is usually just donuts and coffee. They had plenty of choices, including hard-boiled eggs. I'd definitely recommend the hotel and will be back.

I found a pest in my room on the last day of a weeklong stay around Christmas. Looking around more, I found stuff all over that wasn't mine. When I told the desk, they said, "Well, you've been in there all week." The staff weren't apologetic or helpful. Disgusted.
