Sybaris Pool Suites Mequon

With the room that has a pool and slide, this feels like an adult take on the Kalahari. The pool is cozy, and there's a sauna right in that area. We also had massage chairs, a whirlpool tub in the room, and a roomy shower. It made for a great couples getaway and some quality time together.

The staff we met were all polite, friendly, and helpful, and they had all the extras set up before we got there. The warm pool and hot tub sized just right for two made the weekend feel romantic and welcoming. We had a fantastic getaway and have already booked another one.

The women who checked us in and out were very nice. Still, this was a really disappointing anniversary stay. I know the Illinois location and expected more from Sybaris, but after moving to Wisconsin I decided to try this one. The only room available was a whirlpool suite, and we couldn't use the tub: whenever we filled it, green, moldy, moss-like bits came out, along with black stains from the jets (see pictures). The massage chair beside the bed was filthy and falling apart, the bathroom curtain was dirty, and the bathroom itself was deteriorating. The sauna floor was black and felt very unsanitary. Since this was our only chance to get away from the kids, we made the best of it by staying in bed and going out to dinner, but couldn't use any of the room's amenities. For the price, and the standards I associate with Sybaris, there's no excuse for it to be so outdated and dirty. I wouldn't recommend it. The hour-or-so drive to Illinois seems worth it for a better experience and value.

The room was very quiet, with no noise from the neighboring rooms, and the bed was really comfortable. It was a relaxing place to unwind and connect with my partner. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived, but they sorted it out quickly and offered us a late checkout, which was very nice. It was extremely clean, too.
