Church Landing at Mill Falls

We’ve visited many times over the years and came back for a getaway, thinking Church Landing would let us park and stay onsite. It didn’t work out as we hoped, and we’re not sure we’ll return. At Lake House Grill on the first night, we sat at the bar. Our server was pleasant but distracted, spending a lot of time talking with a friend who was also dining there. Her colleague was doing a great job making drinks for the whole restaurant and half the bar. The food was just okay. My halibut was covered in sauce, which also hid the lobster in the dish. I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want to highlight it. On Sunday, though, we had a great server at the bar. The gym was well equipped, but there was no way to sanitize the equipment and no hand sanitizer either. We’d hoped to have breakfast onsite, but only brunch was available, and we weren’t interested. Having to leave the property was a letdown. I hadn’t planned on that, and it wasn’t relaxing.

Day two at Church Landing at Mill Falls, and everything has been outstanding so far. The lake views and atmosphere are beautiful and relaxing. Tiffany has been incredible, going above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The service is top-notch. I’ll 1000% be back. Thank you!

It’s sad to see how much this place has declined. Family members got married here, and we’ve visited the lake many times. After a while away, we came back for a mini vacation, but the high room prices and the hotel’s condition were a real disappointment. We’d stayed here more than five times over a few years, but won’t be back. The bathroom light fixture had visible buildup, possibly mold, the windows were noticeably dirty, and spiders and webs were easy to see above the curtains. The carpet was stained, and there were black hairs on the bed. That was unsettling enough to make me wonder if the bed had been changed after the previous guest. We’d also hoped to use the pool, but the water was uncomfortably cold. The staff were the only bright spot. Everyone we met was friendly, kind, and helpful, and really tried their best. Sadly, that couldn’t make up for the serious cleanliness problems. I wouldn’t stay again without major improvements.

We had a great time in Meredith, with town nearby and leaf peeping spots close by. Our room was large and the view was spectacular. It was a little older, and the only reason I’d give it four stars was the funky smell. I’m not sure if that came from the age of the place or its location near the water. It wasn’t overpowering, but you definitely noticed it.
