3rd Street Nest Bed & Breakfast

I don't usually choose B&Bs, but this one was peaceful and nicely furnished. I had the upstairs Garden Room and its private bath; the air conditioning was adequate and the mattress was soft and comfortable. The house seems to date from around the turn of the 20th century or earlier, and some of the furniture is antique. Jane was personable and an excellent host. It was the best value for a night's stay that I can remember.

We keep coming back because we love staying here. Jane's hospitality is top-notch, from the homemade treat when you arrive to the great breakfast the next morning. She's truly the best hostess. Thanks again, Jane!

The room was very clean, and Jane had left water, soda, and a couple of cookies for us. There were plenty of towels and different soaps and shampoos in the bathroom, too. Breakfast was great, and I enjoyed getting to chat with Jane. She's an excellent host. I'd stay here again if I pass through Lamar.

Jane was thoughtful about our early birding plans and put breakfast off until we'd been out for a while. We later sat together and shared stories, which we really appreciated. The breakfast itself was fantastic, and the beds were comfortable. The house is beautifully furnished and stocked with all sorts of useful extras, from little room fridges and toiletries to Q-tips and homemade cookies. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch swing during an afternoon thunderstorm, taking in the warm, humid air in southeast Colorado and Nature’s light show. We'd happily stay again next time we're in the area. Thanks for a great visit, Jane!
