Rawls Motel Near Phoenix Airport

My niece found a mouse dropping in the bathroom and a cockroach in her room. When I asked the clerk to refund the money, he said no and offered to move her to a better room. I told him that wasn't good enough, since seeing one cockroach makes me worry there could be many more. He kept arguing, so I said I'd dispute the charge with my bank. He said, "You do that," then hung up. The front desk clerk also couldn't speak English. This motel was awful, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I've stayed in plenty of cheap places that were run down and gross, but this was the first one that was actually dirty. There was hair, dirt, and stains on the sheets, and the pillows were yellowed and stained enough that they should have been thrown out. The floor and sink were dirty too. I booked two nights but only made it through the first one. It was late, and I just needed a few hours of sleep, so I put towels over the bed and slept on those. Don't stay here.

There were cockroaches everywhere. Don't stay here. Save yourself the time and money, even if that means sleeping in your car.

The rooms were immaculate, and the management was protective and welcoming. They offer daily and weekly rates. Some of the rules may seem unusually strict, but they turn out to be in the guests' best interests.
