The Azure Hotel

The room was spacious, luxurious, and super clean, and the front desk associates were friendly. My only downside was breakfast. I wish there had been more variety.

The rates were reasonable, and I didn't see any riffraff hanging around. The rooms and grounds were super clean and looked newer and updated, giving the place a five-star feel. But the Main Street location in Mesa can be pretty getto, and the $100 deposit knocks the rating down a few pegs. Pleasant stay.

When I called the front desk at 6:30 am about the smoke detector going off, they refused to move me or give a refund. I'd already had a sleepless night because the room they'd moved me to was loud, too, and I still had another night to endure. I was alone and hadn't made a mess. In that second room all I did was sleep in the bed, so they could have moved me without a problem. I have a video but can't share it. Shame on them. It started quietly enough around 9 pm, and I went to sleep. The people above came in just as I was dozing at 9:30 pm, then banged doors and stomped across the floor. I couldn't get back to sleep. At 11:00 pm I called the desk, and they spoke to the guests, but the noise didn't stop. At 11:30 they moved me upstairs, right by the light rail and Main Street. It was so loud there that I couldn't sleep either, and the smoke detector kept going off. I was booked for two nights, and I really wanted to go somewhere else. Anywhere would be better than the Azure Hotel. You can't sleep during the day either because it's so loud. Shame on them.

I enjoyed this unexpected find, even though I wasn't sure what to expect from a hotel outside a main chain. The location suited our needs and made it easy to get where we wanted to go. The rooms seemed fairly soundproof, since I barely heard the other guests. I loved the jacuzzi tub, too.
