This place is gross and barely habitable. The rooms still have Days Inn signage, so it seems it used to be one. Getting checked in means ringing a street-facing doorbell, with drug addicts and/or dealers walking around outside. The doors in the rooms don't close all the way, so you'll need to prop yours shut with a chair. It's insanely hot, and the wall-mounted AC sounds like a lawnmower. The rooms are rundown and barely qualify as rooms. TVs have no stands and are just leaning on the dresser. I had to use my phone's IR function to get mine working. The bathroom has a hole where the doorknob used to be, and the bathrooms are barely clean. There's also a lot of background noise, like screaming in the middle of the night. There's no food within walking distance, and I wouldn't recommend walking around this area after dark.

The staff were nice, but that’s the only good thing I can say. The place is worn down and badly outdated, and it looks like it used to be a Days Inn. The rooms aren’t cleaned properly. My friend was given a bathroom door in this condition, which is completely unacceptable. The owners seem not to have put money back into the property for decades. Even replacing a cheap door would help, and as it is, there’s no real privacy in the bathroom. There’s no separation between smoking and non-smoking rooms. You can pay cash, with a $50 deposit, which doesn’t cover much damage. The motel sits in the middle of a well-known area with a lot of drug activity, and there are many homeless people along the stretch from Higley Rd to Recker Rd and on toward Power Rd. You get what you pay for here.

We were asked on the street if we had a smoke to sell for $2, which tells you enough about the area. When we returned the original key, we found two dollars on the sidewalk, nearly folded, with one person talking to another. First, the woman gave us a smoking room even though we hadn’t asked for one, then insisted we had requested it and spoken with her. We hadn’t. We got stuck inside our room for a moment because something was wrong with the door. She changed our room, but the shower in the new one wouldn’t turn on either.

The people were sweet, and I feel bad leaving a bad review, but I want to be honest about my stay. The rooms were pretty gross, and I wouldn’t pay anywhere near what I paid, even though $160 a night isn’t a lot compared with some places. The bed was covered in hair, and the pillows had stains and hair all over them. The fridge was filthy, the shower didn’t work, and it was clear they don’t clean well. I’ve found better for $160 a night.

The owner was friendly, but for the price, the room wasn’t good. Several lights didn’t work, the bathroom heat lamp was out, and the wall switch had no cover. The mattresses could use replacing, too. At 2:30 in the morning, someone kept knocking and wouldn’t stop until I told them to go away. I mentioned the room problems, but the guy didn’t even respond.
