Copeland Tower Suites, An Ascend Hotel Collection

It was one of the quietest hotels or towers I’ve stayed in. The location felt safe, parking on the property was hassle-free, and breakfast was okay, nothing bad. Half the tower is a residents’ community, with its own side, and you can see some residents chatting and relaxing in the elevator area. My bathroom doorknob was broken, but I called the front desk and it was fixed five minutes later. I’d personally like a pop of color in the decor, maybe pillows on the couches. Still, it was pretty good and I’d come back.

For the price, I’d book here again. It worked fine as a home base between outings, and the location is convenient, with quick highway access and most places about 15 minutes away. The room did the job, though there were a few small cleanliness issues that weren’t worth raising. The shower and bathroom were clean, apart from chewing gum left by the previous guests on top of the shower curtain rod. More than half the TV channels weren’t working. Bring your own pillow if you can, since one wasn’t enough for me and two were too many. In some rooms the AC is very close to the farther bed and blows straight onto whoever sleeps there.

Breakfast was good, and I really liked having an outdoor deck where we could sit and eat. The garage parking was easy and felt safe, and the location just outside New Orleans put us about a 15-20 minute drive from everything we wanted to see. The staff were friendly, and our room was spacious, modern, very clean, and had a super comfortable bed. It wasn’t cleaned during our two-night stay, though I’m not sure whether that’s the policy, perhaps every other day or by request. It didn’t bother us much. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it.

The front desk clerk suggested Drago’s, which was amazing, and also recommended Bobby Hebert’s. The staff were really helpful, and both the regular beds and the sleeper sofa were super comfortable. Breakfast had some good items, although the eggs could be better. Everything was nice, but I’d have given it five stars if there’d been something like a Jacuzzi or an indoor pool. We’d definitely come back.
