La Quinta Inn by Wyndham New Orleans Veterans / Metairie

I’m still waiting on the $75.76 refund for my August 17-18, 2025 reservation, more than two months later. We ended up sleeping in the car, and my fiancé, an army veteran with health issues, was with me. The first room was extremely dirty, with visible blood on the mattress. I reported it to the manager on duty and was moved to another room, but it was just as unsanitary, so I asked for a refund instead of staying. The manager agreed and wrote that it would be issued within a few business days. Since August I’ve contacted the hotel and Booking.com repeatedly; Booking.com says it contacted the property several times, but got no response. When I called the hotel, they told me my payment had already been used, which is unacceptable and unprofessional. I’m asking for the refund to be processed immediately and for confirmation once it’s issued. I hope to hear back promptly.

Getting on and off the freeway was easy, and breakfast had a nice selection. The waffles were the one letdown, they always came out uncooked in the middle. My bed was very comfortable, and the shower room was clean. There was a problem with my original room, but the representative fixed it quickly and was very apologetic.

I asked to see the room before confirming the booking, and the attendant agreed and was friendly about it. But after following his directions, I parked behind the building, by the big sign advertising weekly rates. Upstairs, both beds had stains and the room was absolutely disgusting. Before arriving, I’d called the front desk and been told it was safe, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was served. Instead, the landscaping was badly neglected, with grass a foot or two high, and sketchy people were roaming the lot and coming into the office to look around. When I asked about safety, a woman said that being afraid meant I had no faith and wasn’t a Christian, then started telling me about Jesus, whom I already know. She also told the other attendant they used to shake, rattle, and roll downtown before going to church on Sunday. I booked here to avoid New Orleans’ busy neighborhood while staying less than 10 minutes away, and wanted amenities like wash/dry. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. I’ve included photos so people can judge for themselves.

We kept having to switch rooms. The first had no working air, unmade beds, and no towels. In the second, the AC worked a little better but it was still hot, and the lights didn’t work. The third had no working AC, so we returned to the second. Breakfast was just as bad: the orange and apple juice machine was broken, there were no spoons, and the waffle mix tasted horrible. We reported the problems, but the man behind the counter left, and no one came back to the front desk during the at least 30 minutes we were there. Poorly managed and in need of lots of maintenance. Not worth the $100 I paid, and I don’t recommend it.
