The laminate floor in the room and rubber flooring in the gym were a nice surprise, and it was appreciated that they have beach gear you can borrow and return. The pool was okay, small, and shaded in the afternoon in February. The gym has a cable crossover, which is unusual and fun to see, but the quality wasn’t great and the weight stack was small. The floor was absolutely disgusting when I arrived. I had to ask two days in a row before it was cleaned. The biggest gripe is the price, $249 a night for what feels like a $119 hotel. As other reviews mention, it’s very out of date. Some rooms have been slightly updated, but it looks like clearance section furniture, with nothing matching. The beds seem like they’re from 1990. The linens were scratchy, the blanket was old and worn, the comforter was like a thin curtain, and the pillows sucked. The doors were a disaster. Nothing was locked, and the card readers didn’t work around the building or in the gym. The outdoor door barely shut, and we had to pull it closed or it stayed cracked open. I’d honestly do my absolute best to stay somewhere else.

The staff made this stay. Every person went out of their way to help and sort things out, starting with Ashley at the front desk, who made a positive impression right away. I can’t say enough good things about them. The hotel itself is nice, with large rooms, many newly renovated, a pleasant pool, and good breakfast. The atmosphere is nice too. It’s conveniently just off the highway, with good food options nearby, and about a 10 minute drive to downtown Venice and the beach.

There’s reception 24 hours a day, and the staff are friendly. The hotel is clean enough, but it could use a refresh. Breakfast is good and has enough choice, and warm drinks and filtered water are available around the clock. The windows in the room are screwed shut, so you have to keep the air handler running to get air in.

The breakfast was actually hot, unlike the cold morning meals we’ve had at most hotels, and the lounge was beautifully decorated and impressive. The pool was clean and didn’t smell strongly of chlorine, so it was relaxing to soak there after a long day. Our stay was quiet and relaxing, and the whole hotel was clean. The staff were friendly and outstanding at making us comfortable, especially Stephanie. My wife and I will definitely return, and I highly recommend staying here.

The staff were amazing, and the beds and bathroom were very clean. The room showed a little wear from constant use, and the TV screen was damaged and discolored. It wasn’t a smart TV anyway, so there wasn’t much of interest to watch. My last stay was 10 years ago and the rooms seemed the same, so I think they may get an update soon. We’ll be back to find out.
