Travelodge Metropolis

For the price, this one’s hard to beat. This was our third night at a Motel 6, and the best one yet. I was pleasantly surprised. The floors looked brand new, and everything was clean and pretty, like it had just been remodeled. The beds were amazing, and the guest service was great.

We booked this place because we were in town for the quilt festival in Paducah. It’s relatively cheap, and if all you need is somewhere bare-bones to sleep, it’ll do. Just don’t expect much else. The room had a hole in the wall and needed paint; the baseboards were mildewed. There was almost nothing in the room: no table, side chair, or desk chair. For amenities, there was soap, but no shampoo, lotion, Kleenex, or coffee maker. The bedspread had holes too. A real fleabag.

Only needed the room for one night. It was quite clean and smelled fresh, which was great. An extra pillow in the closet would’ve been a nice addition, but overall it was clean and didn’t have any odor.

The air was cold and the room was clean. My only complaint is the mini fridges. I stayed in three different rooms, and in all of them the fridge was barely any cooler than room temperature. They should be cleaned or replaced.
