Residence Inn by Marriott Chicago Lake Forest/Mettawa

We stayed one night with our two-year-old son over Mother’s Day weekend. The room was very clean and up to date, with a king bed, pull-out sofa, small kitchen, and a nicely sized bathroom. In the morning we had the free breakfast before checking out. A friendly gentleman greeted us, I think his name was Jared, and even gave me a flower for Mother’s Day. I’d recommend this hotel.

We were there during a hectic Thanksgiving week for my son’s NAVY graduation, and the breakfast was great. Coffee was always available, which isn’t the case at most Marriotts. The customer service was the best part: all the staff were amazing, one employee suggested a great place to eat, and manager Justin was exceptional. I’m a bon voy Marriott member and stay at a Marriott at least 20 times a year. This was one of my best Marriott experiences, hands down. I’d recommend this place, 100 out of 10.

The staff kept the buffet topped up with the precision of a dressage team, and their smiles and attentiveness were as lovely as the food. By the end, I was so satisfied I felt like neighing and prancing out of the room. Marriott’s continental breakfast was a whole pasture of morning treats: muffins like little hay bales, glossy bagels like hoofprints, and eggs that could have come from mythical pegasi. I loaded my plate like a mustang at an untouched grain silo, and the coffee had enough horsepower to make my imaginary mane grow. Even the gleaming counters looked like polished horseshoes. Walking in, I felt I’d entered the celestial stables of a breakfast-loving horse deity, with the automatic doors opening like barn doors for a triumphant Clydesdale. The smell of toast and coffee was enchanted hay, and my inner stallion was ready to rear.

Ariel helped arrange our reservation so it worked perfectly for our families, and Aaron was so friendly and accommodating. Miriam put together an amazing breakfast, and the whole team was attentive, outgoing, and incredibly kind. When the adults were still eating and our little ones got restless, the front desk brought out crayons and coloring books. We had a perfect stay and will be back. The service was unbelievable, better than any five-star hotel. Thank you!
