Budget Inn Mexico MO on US 54

The owner was gruff and unfriendly. I wasn't expecting a friend, but some positive attitude would've been nice. The property itself felt run-down, poorly maintained, and low quality, and it smelled moldy to me. I ended my stay early. Then the owner added a "0" to my bill, charging me 10 times too much, and denied it had happened. He wouldn't fix the bill. Thankfully, my credit card company helped, and after the company contacted the merchant, I eventually got the correct credit. The owner never responded, so that was no thanks to him. I've seen the owner's replies to other 1-star reviews promising to "improve their product" or something like that. He could try actually putting those promises into practice.

The service from both the wife and husband was very unpleasant and unprofessional. I didn't stay. We went somewhere else instead, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Someone needs to be told about this. 😡

They were booked, but still found us a room so we could get out of the weather. The owners were friendly and really accommodating. Breakfast with pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and eggs was a nice touch. We'd already had unpleasant stops at two other places nearby, so finding one of the least rude hotels around was a relief. Really appreciated them. Thank you so much!

The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, with a huge TV and a big bed. The air-conditioning was nice and cold. I slept until ten thirty for the first time since I was a kid, and even shut off my phone when it rang this morning. Happy Sabbath!
