Boulan South Beach

We were very pleased with the service. The staff were warm and attentive, and the front desk was always ready to help. Daily housekeeping kept the beds neatly made. We also loved the rooftop pool and its city view, plus the private beach area with loungers and towels, a rare perk in South Beach. Prepaying for breakfast with our room was a good call. It's served at the neighboring restaurant, Orange Blossom, and was genuinely delicious. The only small snag was that we initially got just one tiny bottle of each bathroom amenity for two adults and two children. I mentioned it to the front desk, and they quickly sent more. Pleasant hotel, good service, and a great location. We'd happily return.

We had a girls' weekend at The Boulan and enjoyed the rooftop pool. When we wanted the Miami Beach crowd, the beach was an easy option, with loungers and towels provided. Breakfast at Orange Blossom is worth considering. Hugo and Alberto gave us some great recommendations, and Emma was really helpful with dinner ideas and good cocktails, especially Bella. There's so much right at your fingertips here. Locals who haven't been are missing out.

The location was convenient for exploring Miami Beach, but that's the only thing I liked. For what we paid, this stay felt like a rip-off, and we definitely wouldn't return. Boulan South Beach presents itself as a four-star hotel, yet it felt like two stars at best. The online photos and listing bore little resemblance to what we got. For all seven days, the shower never had properly hot water. We called reception several times and were told it was “warm” and would be heated in 20 minutes, but nothing changed. The halls were dusty and never vacuumed, and the rooms felt filthy and poorly maintained. Reception and other staff came across as unprofessional, with no real hospitality or customer care. They also asked for a large security deposit without mentioning that a substantial tax would be taken from it. We were charged an extra $370 for seven days, which was unexpected and disappointing.

Find somewhere else. We prepaid for the most expensive room, but they gave it to someone else. The front desk initially said there was nothing they could do. After 30 minutes and the manager's arrival, they offered a cheaper room and said they'd refund 20%. A week later, that refund still hadn't come. A staff member told me the room we'd booked was actually available. The rooms are mediocre. Only one socket by the beds worked, so my phone hadn't charged by morning. The room phone was also broken. I asked three times to have it fixed, and no one came.
