Governor South Beach Rentals

My room was super clean, and the hotel is in a great part of South Beach, within walking distance of restaurants with amazing food. The staff have been caring and wonderful. Mariana deserves a special thanks for such a warm welcome. I’ll definitely stay here again.

The murals on the stairwell were a highlight, and I really liked having actual plants in the room. It was spacious, with a fridge and microwave, and access to a washer and dryer was handy. The room was spotless, which made me feel unusually comfortable for a hotel stay. The carpet in the elevator and hallway looked worn, though the common areas always smelled pleasant. The indoor elevator ramp seemed a little unstable, and I was annoyed to discover extra resort charges that Booking.com hadn't clearly explained.

We could walk to Miami Beach in about five minutes, and the hotel was close to the Art Deco area. The staff were so helpful and welcoming that they let us check in early and store our luggage while we went sightseeing before our flight. Complimentary tea and coffee, a washing machine, and a well-stocked shop by reception were nice extras.

The room itself covered our basic needs, but the building could use some attention. The elevator was tiny, slow, and pretty dirty, and the connecting doors between the two rooms we rented wouldn't stay open. They also had unattractive sound-absorbing foam attached. The shampoo wasn't good. When we asked at the front desk, we were told they sold shampoo, but the only choice was a low-quality two-in-one shampoo and conditioner. For us, this added up to a fairly standard three-star stay, with maintenance, upgrades, and better amenities needed.
