We stayed in room #5, which I’d pick over the others because the bathroom is much newer and has a nicer sink with counter space. The place was well cleaned, centrally located, and the rooms are spacious, much bigger than most hotel suites. Our stay was pleasant, and we even had a community cat we nicknamed “Black Panther” greet us at night, though never in the morning or afternoon. There’s no reception if you need help, and no one has replied to my email so far. That doesn’t feel very professional. The walls are thin, so we sometimes heard noise from outside and upstairs. The old wood floors and walls, including the chipped areas in the bathroom, could use an upgrade. The toilet paper holder was placed quite low and was awkward to reach. The shower took a long time to warm up, and you have to leave it running to get hotter, which wastes water. The blanket was too thin, and with the AC on, the room got cool enough to make it hard to fall asleep. A thicker blanket would be more comfortable and look better.

We were unsure at first since we’re not used to this kind of hotel room, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very spacious and has a full kitchen, right by Espalona way and the beach. We’d definitely come back.

The house is old but charming, with vegetation around it that makes the place feel like a relaxing jungle nest. There’s a common yard and small garden, both pleasantly decorated. I’d recommend staying here, as long as you know it isn’t a hotel. Check-in and checkout were easy, but the owner doesn’t greet you when you arrive. You get a code to enter. Amenities are scarce: no washing machine or dishwasher, and no hot water in the old kitchen. You have to boil water in the kettle to wash dishes. There was barely enough cutlery, and one of the two stoves didn’t work, so cooking options were limited. I also didn’t see much consideration for the environment when it came to the trash. One morning I went to work in the garden and found a man lying on the floor in just shorts. He seemed out of it, half asleep and possibly on drugs. It scared me, and I never went back to that area.

We’re staying here from Ontario, Canada, and it’s such a cool, unique place, really close to everything. The people who work here or own it are very friendly. Best perk is the kitties you can play with, especially Stella!

The only real drawback for us was the bathroom. My partner and I are both tall, so the small space was a squeeze, though it should be fine unless mobility is an issue. Otherwise, we loved our stay in suite 7. The room was clean and pleasant, the staff were lovely, and we could walk to everything we had planned. The resident cats were a sweet bonus since I miss my own when I travel. 🥹 We had a late flight, and the staff kindly let us leave our bags in the office. We had a ridiculous amount of luggage after working earlier in the week. I’d happily stay here again if I’m back in the area.
